Swift Cottage is one of nine in a holiday complex called Newhouse Barton that have been sympathetically converted from the existing buildings of a working farm. Accordingly, the setting now enables visitors to enjoy peace and quiet amidst pastureland, which offers beautiful and unforgettable views of stunning countryside.

We also offer on-site recreational facilities for all ages, including:

  • Heated indoor swimming pool
  • Indoor games room suitable for all ages
  • External play area for the under 12’s
  • Grassed meadow for that game of football or a picnic.

There is bench seating close to the children’s play area to enable you to watch over the children, whilst you relax, taking in the view of the rolling hills of South Devon.

Enjoy a relaxing swim and entertain youngsters on rainy days in our indoor heated swimming pool. Shared with a limited number of other cottages within the complex, our pool is a great place to unwind and has access to modern changing rooms.

Generally a hit with all ages, the communal indoor games room is ideal for entertaining come rain or shine. With a pool table (small charge), table tennis table, foosball table and a selection of children's toys, there are plenty of options to keep everyone entertained.

"Perfect location and stunning accommodation and facilities. The location is in the countryside, on the outskirts of a village. The standard of the accommodation was extremely high and had all the facilities that you could imagine... The swimming pool was lovely and relaxing, and games room was very well-equipped for all ages. There was also plenty of outdoor space with a family play area. The complex area was very well maintained and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The attention to detail from Jacquie, our accommodation owner, was outstanding. "Superb. We would highly recommend this cottage. It was in a lovely quiet setting with wonderful views of the countryside. The cottage itself is superb. "This lovely, characterful period cottage is in a beautiful setting on a converted farm. Perfect for children, with a heated indoor pool across the courtyard and also a well-equipped games room and outdoor play area for little ones. Plenty of parking, and recycling facilities in the car park. Within a short drive of places like River Dart Country Park, Kents Cavern, Crealey's theme park, lots of clean beaches, and also Newton Abbot or Totnes for shopping/takeaways etc. We have been 3 times and this won't be the last!"
