Swift Cottage is one of nine cottages in a holiday complex called Newhouse Barton, that have been sympathetically converted from the existing buildings of a working farm. Enjoying peace and quiet, the holiday cottages are set amidst pastureland and benefit from beautiful and unforgettable views of stunning countryside.
We offer quality recreational facilities for all ages, including:
- Heated indoor swimming pool
- Indoor games room suitable for all ages
- External play area for the under 12’s
- Grassed meadow for that game of football or a picnic.
There is bench seating close to the children’s play area to enable you to watch over the children, whilst you relax, taking in the view of the rolling hills of South Devon.

Swift Cottage Devon has been lovingly cared for by its owner, Jacquie Quin and is regularly maintained. With our VisitEngland Gold & Four-Star Self-Catering Awards, you can be assured of the highest standards for guests inside the Cottage. Heating, electricity and WiFi are included as standard, as are bed linen and towels.

Lounge
The lounge includes a flat screen, smart TV with Freeview and an integrated DVD player, games, books, etc. There is a sofa bed that will sleep an additional person. Wood burning stove.
Dining Area
The dining area, as you would expect, includes a table and chairs, with plenty of room for a feast! Overlooking the front patio area, it is a lovely place to park with your morning cuppa.
Double Bedroom (ensuite)
The main bedroom is upstairs and has a pine framed, king-size bed with a luxury mattress, flat screen smart TV with integrated DVD player, and an ensuite shower room.
Twin Bedroom (ensuite)
Situated on the ground floor, this twin bedroom has oak framed twin beds with luxury mattresses, a flat screen smart TV and an ensuite shower room.
Kitchen
The modern kitchen includes an electric cooker with hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster.
Communal Areas
Games room with table tennis, pool table and table football (shared). Indoor heated swimming pool (shared, 38ft x 16ft, with changing and shower facilities, open all year round 9am - 8pm). Young children’s play area with climbing frame. BBQ (shared). 2 electric car charging points. Ample parking.
Meet Jacquie
Hello! My name is Jacquie Quin and I own and run Swift Cottage Devon.
I have a love for Devon, so when the opportunity presented itself to invest in Swift Cottage I couldn’t refuse – it was love at first sight! I regularly stay here myself so I have a good grip of what my guests need whilst here. I’m on hand at all times to help with anything you may need before, during and after your stay.
