Totnes

A 10-minute drive away, located on the banks of the River Dart, Totnes is a ‘must visit’ when in Devon. Aside from the Castle and museums, the town offers plenty of opportunities for relaxed local shopping in the markets and delightful winding streets, as well as top-notch food and drink, all set against the backdrop of stunning countryside. From wine and cheese tasting to petting animals, and pottery painting to riverside walks, there is something for people of all ages to enjoy.
Of particular note is the family-friendly South Devon Railway steam train that can take you on a 14-mile round trip, through some of the most beautiful scenery in Devon.

Dartmoor National Park
The wild beauty of Dartmoor is just 20 minutes away.
Dartmoor National Park is a unique ‘bucket list’ destination for many, with its vast wild and open moorland. Dartmoor ponies roam this dramatic landscape, defined by its forests, rivers, wetlands and tors (rock formations) and trails wind through valleys with Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age stone circles and abandoned medieval buildings. Dotted with villages, the area includes Princetown, home to Dartmoor Prison used during the Napoleonic Wars.

Torquay
Nicknamed the English Riviera, Torquay is a seaside town known for beaches such as Babbacombe and cliffside Oddicombe.
Torquay offers a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, a marina, and places of interest to explore. Of note is Torre Abbey, a monastery founded in 1196, which has art galleries and extensive gardens.
